Launched in 1959, SR-1 is Minolta's second 35mm SLR camera. Apart from the maximum shutter speed, 1/500s, it has not much different from SR-2. SR-1 has a purely mechanical design; the body does not have any electronic parts, making it very durable and feels very solid.
The Minolta auto Rokkor-PF 55 mm f/1.8 paired with the SR-1 is also a well-made lens. Its focus and aperture rings are still easy to operate, even after more than half a century from production.
