在國際分銷商的強烈要求下，Canon在1979年推出了光圈先决的AV-1單反相機。AV-1 與 1976 的 AE-1 非常相似，但它提供的是光圈優先自動曝光，而不是 AE-1 的快門優先 AE。 型號中的AV是「Aperture Value」的縮寫亦是光圈優先的常用代號。拍攝時只需對焦和調校光圈，操作簡單。適合初嘗單反菲林相機的你。
